October 16 Glass Workshops, Open House, and Glass Sale!
October 15 & 16 - Salem County "Arts in Bloom" Weekend!
Salem Community College welcomes the public to the Samuel H. Jones Glass Education Center on Sunday, October 16th for an afternoon of glass.
Admission to the Glass Education Center and the sale is free. The SCC's Glass Club's sale will feature handmade glass items including pumpkins, flowers, jewelry, vases and paperweights from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday, October 15, and Sunday, October 16. While visiting the center, guests may check out the studio and see glassmaking in action.
Also on October 16th, the glass center will be running several hands on workshops. No glass experience is necessary, but please note minimum age requirements for each experience. Click on the link below for details and for registration.

Salem County Arts in Bloom! FREE "Dig Into Art" Project for Kids!
Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 5 PM
October's Open House and Workshop event is running during our weekend long open house for Salem County Arts in Bloom. The Glass Center will be open both Saturday and Sunday, between 10 AM and 5 PM, for guests to tour the center and to observe glassmaking in action! We will also be hosting a free activity for families.
"Stained Glass" Votive Holders - FREE Dig Into Art Activity (until supplies run out) - Participants will create translucent colorful votive holders that give the appearance of stained glass. This activity is open to all under the age of 18 while supplies last.

Hands on Glass Experiences!
Available Workshops:
Fused Halloween Decoration*, 1.5 hour session from 12:30pm-2:00pm, or 2:30pm-4:00pm, $40.00 per person- Create your very own Halloween inspired window decoration! Participants will create their fused glass window ornaments by layering pieces of flat glass and enamels and heating them in a kiln. Ages 4 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Flameworked Halloween Pendants and Stir Sticks, 3 hour session from 1pm-4pm, $60.00 per person- Attendees use heat, gravity and simple tools to create their very own glass pendants and themed stir sticks at the torch. Ages 10 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Blown Glass Pumpkin*, 1.5 hour sessions between 12:00pm-1:30pm, or 2:30pm-4pm, $75.00- Participants will create a glass pumpkin from the glass furnace in our glassblowing studio! Ages 14 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
(*Due to the process, items will need to be picked up at a later date, or can be shipped for an additional fee.)
